Key Facts Sheet Removal 2025: A Win for Franchisors

Posted by Elizabeth Gore-Jones on 13 March 2025

Franchisors rejoice: the Key Facts Sheet is gone!

Hallelujah! As of 1 April 2025, the Key Facts Sheet is officially gone. Franchisors are no longer required to prepare, maintain, or provide this document, marking a significant step in simplifying compliance requirements.

What Does This Mean for Franchisors?

The removal of the Key Facts Sheet streamlines franchisor obligations by:

  • Eliminating the need to create and update the Key Facts Sheet annually.
  • Reducing administrative burdens tied to disclosure updates.

This change simplifies compliance, saving time and resources for franchisors.

Why This Matters for the Franchising Sector

At The Franchise & Business Lawyers, we’ve long advocated for the removal of the Key Facts Sheet. It often duplicated information in the Disclosure Document, creating unnecessary red tape for franchisors while being largely overlooked by prospective franchisees. This change is a clear win for the franchising sector, reducing complexity without compromising transparency.

Need Help with Franchising Compliance?

While the Key Facts Sheet is gone, staying compliant with the updated Franchising Code remains essential. The Franchise & Business Lawyers can help you navigate these changes with ease. Contact us today for expert guidance.
