Changes have been made to the Franchise Disclosure Register Portal.
The changes came into effect on 30 September 2022.
The only mandatory information relates to registration Business Details.
All other information on the portal is voluntary for now.
It would appear the legislature did not have the regulatory power to mandate the provision of further information.
Whilst action is being taken to remedy this position, it is not expected to be in place until Mid November 2022.
Franchisors are required to upload their information by 14 November 2022. It will be interesting to see if the "mid November" prediction aligns with this requirement.
Does this mean Franchisors will all be required to upload further mandatory information at the last hour?
If you are a Franchisor you are asked to upload additional information now, be cautious.
Administrators registered on the MyGovId site will be contacted when and if the position changes.
