Franchise Agreement Reviews

Posted by Elizabeth Gore-Jones on 13 November 2019

When a lawyer is reviewing your franchise agreement they should not just be summarising the agreement for you.

One of the most important roles of a franchise review should be to make recommendations for you.

A franchise review should:

1. suggest drafting changes - deletions and different wording

2. explain the impact of relevant legislation

3. highlight how the franchise agreement compares to industry standards

4. explain what the agreement says

Only lawyers with actual franchising expertise can give a potential franchisee a meaningful review of a franchise agreement.
