The new Franchise Disclosure Register launches on 15 November 2022.
The Register is aimed at providing more easily accessible information for Franchisees.
We believe that one of the major benefits for Franchisees should be the ability for Franchisees to compare different Franchise systems within the same industry.
For instance, a franchisee may be considering a Franchise with Coffee shop XYZ; however, after researching the register may become aware of other Franchise offerings for coffee shops. This may give them enough information to undertake due diligence for other Franchise offerings in the Coffee shop sector.
We anticipate that most Franchisors will include a link to their website which will enable the Franchisee to click through and undertake research. If they are interested in other Franchises then the Franchisor contact details will also be available on the disclosure register enabling those Franchisee to make direct contact with Franchisors.
This will be a valuable tool for Franchisees to compare the availability of other Franchise systems within the same industry.
